EDDC Removal of Rockbeare Parish Area

EDDC has voted to remove an economically important area of Rockbeare Parish, in order to support Cranbrook. The area is earmarked for development and, consequently, Rockbeare will not now receive any monetary benefits from the same - sums generated from development will support Cranbrook. This decision was made despite objections from parishioners, the Parish Council, and support provided to us by our two County Councillors.

Map showing the boundary of land owned by the Parish Council adjacent to the Telephone Box

Ownership Clarified for land adjacent to telephone box

Many parishioners have asked about some clarification about the ownership status of the land adjacent to the Telephone box where 'Residents Only' parking signs have been erected. Land Registry records confirm that this land is owned by the Parish Council and as such anyone can park there with the Parish Council's permission.

This is particularly important for school drop off and pick up. All the Parish Council would ask is that parking times on that land be kept to the minimum in the interests of all. The Resident Only signs will need to be removed. See the excerpt from the Land Registry record showing boundaries.
